"It's not working!!!"

Jay said something kind of funny the other night. He woke up screaming at about 3:30 a.m. so I went in to check on him and he was crying "It''s not working!!! It's not working!!!" I just figured he had been having a bad dream so I asked him what wasn't working and he held up his hand and said "My hand!!! My Hand isn't working." His hand had fallen asleep and wasn't "working" anymore.

One more pic (with a funny story)

I took this picture of Jay doing "Super Jay" today and it reminded me of a funny story. If it looks like Jay has a bald spot on the top of his head, it is because he gave himself a haircut a few days ago. Lindsay was doing her hair and Jay came in and told her that he had cut his hair. I guess it's not too smart to keep scissors out where curious boys can get to them. Plus, Lindsay had just given Rex his first haircut (also newsworthy, but forgotten until just now) the previous day.

Nothing Much

Well, not much has happened around here lately. I started my new job, and that is going pretty well so far. We are getting everything put together for our mortgage application and we are scheduled to close on our new house on April 18th. We're just starting to pack up all of our crap, so that will be the big project for the next couple of weeks.

Rex is getting close to crawling. He gets up on his hands and knees, but he scoots backwards. He also loves to eat paper, so we have to be careful about what is on the floor when he is on the loose. He is also learning how to pick up and eat puffy snacks.

Newsworthy

I will be starting a new job on Monday at the law firm Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith. I have a friend who started there a couple of weeks ago and he recommended me for an interview. They called me last Thursday and asked me to interview on Friday, and yesterday they gave me an offer. It is a national firm with 16 offices and about 600 attorneys. The Las Vegas office has about 45 attorneys, so it seems like it will be a good opportunity. The hard part was giving notice to my current employer today, because I have enjoyed my job and the people I work with. They were quite supportive of my decision and I feel like I will be leaving on good terms.

Jay is so funny

Today Jay was playing "Cinderella" with Lindsay. Lindsay was Cinderella and Jay said he was the "Fairy Godbrother." He even sang "bibbidy bobbidy boo."

Rex eating like a big boy.

Jay likes to climb in Rex's crib in the morning. Sometimes we can hear him on the baby monitor telling Rex to "settle down" or to "stop crying."

Rex the big boy.

"The name's Christmas. Lloyd Christmas."

Funny dude.

Seriously???

I just read this crazy story. Enjoy!

Unknowing twins marry each other

LONDON, England -- A set of British twins who were separated at birth went on to marry each other without realizing they were related, the UK Press Association reported Friday.
The brother and sister, who were adopted by separate parents, were given an annulment after a High Court judge ruled that the marriage had never been valid.
Their identities and details of their relationship have been kept secret, but the Press Association reported that the duo did not find out that they were blood relatives until after they were married.
David Alton, a member of the House of Lords, revealed their situation as a way of highlighting perceived shortcomings in the Human Embryology and Tissues Bill which is now going through Britain's Parliament.
He first heard of the twins' marriage in a conversation with a High Court judge, and initially raised the case in a House of Lords debate on December 10.
Alton said: "(The brother and sister) met later in life and felt an inevitable attraction, and the judge had to deal with the consequences of the marriage that they entered into and all the issues of their separation.
"I suspect that it will be a matter of litigation in the future if we do not make information of this kind available to children who have been donor-conceived."
Alton is concerned that the new bill would allow the biological identity of one parent to be removed from the birth certificate, PA reported, and that there would be no way for the child to know if they had been donor-conceived.
He told PA on Friday: "The state is colluding in a deception. We are opening the door to more cases like this one. One of the most fundamental things of all is to know who you are. The issue here is about human rights.
"A birth certificate that omits any mention of your true origin falsifies your history in a very significant way."
